Davante Adams on what motivates him at this stage of his career, the brilliance of Matthew Stafford, and how Puka Nacua continues to amaze week after week | Featured on Rams Revealed, Ep. 145

He's faced the Detroit Lions 14 times. He's defeated them on eight occasions, catching 72 passes for 789 yards and scoring seven touchdowns (plus a two-point conversion) against them over the years. For the vast majority of those matchups, Matthew Stafford was standing on the opposing sideline.

Sunday, Davante Adams will welcome a former NFC North rival to SoFi Stadium… as a Los Angeles Ram… with a fellow future Hall of Famer in his huddle.

"Sometimes it still doesn't feel real," Adams said on a new Rams Revealed, when asked if he could have imagined the possibility of one day playing with Stafford in LA.

"For me to be in this position after battling with him for so many years across the way, to be on the same field, I know this one's going to mean a lot to him. It means a lot to me knowing it means a lot to him, too."

At age 37, Stafford is the front-runner for the league's Most Valuable Player honor with four games to play in the regular season. Adams had been on the receiving end of 14 of his touchdown passes.

In 2020, at age 37, Aaron Rodgers won the MVP in Green Bay with Adams topping the charts with 18 receiving touchdowns.

In 2021, at age 38, Rodgers repeated with Adams his running mate once more.

Rodgers is still going here in 2025 at 42 years old. So why wouldn't Stafford extend his horizon?

"There's no reason why he couldn't or shouldn't, and I'm working on that now," Adams said. The All-Pro receiver turns 33 on Christmas Eve. "I told him actually, I made a joke. I said, 'Whenever you stop, I'm done. So it's up to you.'"
