Johnny Hekker named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 17

Rams punter Johnny Hekkerwas named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 17 following his performance against the Cardinals on Sunday, the NFL announced Tuesday morning.

The former Oregon State standout averaged 39 yards per punt on four punts, three of which landed inside the 20-yard line, in Los Angeles' 31-24 win over Arizona.

For Hekker, this marks the third time in his career that he has received conference special teams player of the week honors. He last won it in Week 10 of the 2016 season and also won it in Week 5 of his rookie season in 2012.
