With the Rams' 2025 season complete, it's time to look ahead to some key offseason dates. Here are some to know over the next handful of months:
January
- January 31, 2026: Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala. This has consistently been a key event for the Rams' pre-draft process; tight end Terrance Ferguson, outside linebacker Josaiah Stewart and running back Jarquez Hunter were participants in last year's event.
February/March
- February 3, 2026: Pro Bowl Games in San Francisco. The Rams had four players selected to the Pro Bowl: quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Puka Nacua and outside linebackers Jared Verse and Byron Young.
- February 17–March 3, 2026, 1 p.m. pacific time: Window for teams to designate franchise or transition players. It would be a surprise if the Rams use either of these tags, considering they have not used the transition tag since placing it on safety Lamarcus Joyner in 2018.
- February 23, 2026-March 2, 2026: NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Ind. Los Angeles owns the 13th (via Atlanta) and 29th overall picks in the first round of this year's draft.
- March 9-11: Legal negotiating period. Starting 9 a.m. pacific time March 9 and ending 12:59:59 p.m. pacific time March 11, teams are allowed to contact and negotiate with certified agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents when their contract expires on March 12, 1 p.m. pacific time (the start of the new league year).
- March 11, 1 p.m. pacific time: New league year and free agency begin. Trades can also begin being executed at this time.
- March 29-April 1, 2026: Annual League Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. This is typically one of the biggest news-generating offseason events, between potential rule changes and head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead speaking to reporters more than two weeks removed from free agency.
April
- April 17, 2026: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets. The Rams have two pending restricted free agents in outside linebackers Keir Thomas and Nick Hampton.
- April 20, 2026: Teams with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs. Meaning, this is the earliest the Rams could begin Organized Team Activities.
- April 22, 2026: Deadline for prior team to exercise right of first refusal to restricted free agents who signed offer sheets. Also the deadline for teams to time, test, visit, interview (including video and phone calls) or conduct physical exams with a draft-eligible player at any location.
- April 23-25, 2026: NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pa.
May
- May 1, 2026: Deadline for teams to exercise the fifth-year options for players who were selected in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. This does apply to the Rams after acquiring cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. on waivers from the Commanders late in the 2024 season.
- May 1-4 or May 8-11, 2026: Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday on one of the two weekends following the Draft. The Rams approach this differently than most teams.
