Know Before You Go: Rams vs. New Orleans Saints at SoFi Stadium

The Los Angeles Rams will host the New Orleans Saints for the team's Play Football preseason game at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. PT presented by SiriusXM. The game will be broadcast locally on CBS LA, available on radio in English on ESPN LA 710 AM and in Spanish on La Primera 1330 AM as well as streamed on therams.com and  bzzr.com/losangelesrams. As part of the NFL’s ‘Play Football’ initiative, the Rams' gameday will feature youth football programs playing on the field at SoFi Stadium during halftime and more.

The NFL celebrates youth and high school football year-round. Through camps, activities, NFL FLAG and tackle leagues, the Play Football initiative provides a fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels, equipping young people with key life skills that are building blocks to success on and off the field. The Rams are committed to growing the game of football by providing access and opportunity for all youth across Los Angeles.

RAMS GAMEDAY TO FEATURE SPECIAL GUESTS AND PERFORMANCES

  • Halftime Youth Flag Football Game: Sixty youth flag football players will take the field for the halftime performance. On behalf of Bridgestone, two games will feature girls flag teams from the Rams Community Club, Roula Fire, South OC Wave, Beach and BCS Gold. Simultaneously, co-ed play will take place with youth athletes from the Rams LA County Parks and Recreation and Inglewood Unified School District . Since January 2026, the Rams have provided $1 million in football equipment to youth and high school football programs throughout Southern California.
  • pLAymaker Surprise: During halftime, the team will surprise Mil'Von James, Inglewood High School Head Football Coach , as a 2026 pLAymaker during a surprise presentation. James grew up in Los Angeles, CA and is a UCLA student-athlete alumni. He is known for his successful efforts in transforming Inglewood High School into a football powerhouse after joining the team following a 0-10 season and bringing them to a 12-1 record within his first year. The team has a 40-3 overall record under James' guidance. He has also previously been honored as a Los Angeles Rams Coach of the Week. In memory of Kenny Washington (#13), the Rams launched the pLAymakers program to recognize 13 Angelenos annually who are committed to fighting injustice and pioneering with purpose in their communities. 2026 marks the 80th anniversary of the league's reintegration when Washington and Woody Strode were signed to the Rams in 1946.
  • Rams Blitz: For the ninth consecutive season, the Rams have teamed up with a nonprofit to educate and empower the sports community to eliminate racial discrimination, champion social justice and improve race relations. The season-long leadership and community-building program, led by Project Blue, features five sessions for tackle and girls flag football players from South Gate High School and Birmingham High School . For their final session, the student-athletes will participate in a youth panel discussion recapping the program and discussing ways they can be champions of change in their respective communities, followed by the teams attending the Rams preseason game.
  • Youth Football Mental Health Program: The Rams will continue their Youth Coaches Culture and Leadership Development Program with a session from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on building positive team culture. The program launched at the beginning of August in partnership with the Center for Healing and Justice Through Sport to equip youth football coaches with practical tools to support athlete mental health and build strong team cultures. Coaches will attend the game following the session.
  • National AnthemThe Light of the World Choir will sing the national anthem, and the Army ROTC Color Guard will present the colors. Rams Season Ticket Members will hold an 80-yard American flag on the field during the anthem.
  • Legend of the Game: In memoriam, Rams Legend LeRoy Irvin  will be honored as the Rams Iconic Legend of the Game presented by 1800 Tequila. Irvin was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey, attended Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia and played college football for the Kansas Jayhawks. He played 11 seasons in the NFL at both cornerback and punt returner, 10 of which were with the Los Angeles Rams. He collected 34 total interceptions with the Rams, which is still the third most in franchise history. He was also named First-Team All-Pro twice and was a two-time Pro Bowler. He holds the record for most punt return yards in a single game (207) and was one of only a few players in NFL history to be named All-Pro at two positions. Irvin passed away on July 1, 2026, and the team will utilize the recognition to honor his impact on the game of football and the organization.
  • Cedars-Sinai Rams Pro for LifeMax Nava, a 9-year-old in cancer remission, will sign a team contract with General Manager Les Snead and Chief Operations Officer Tony Pastoors to become a Rams Pro for Life. Following the signing, he will serve as the Cedars-Sinai Coin Toss Captain for the game. Max recently attended Training Camp and looks forward to attending future team practices and games, now that he's an official member of the team. Max was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia just before his second birthday and has been in remission for around six years while still visiting Cedars-Sinai twice a year for checkups.
  • Military Hero of the GameNavy Veteran Charlie T. Savage  will be recognized during the first quarter as the Military Hero of the Game. Charlie T. Savage is a Navy veteran, award-winning writer, director, producer, and military advocate. Savage enlisted in the United States Navy immediately after high school and served for nearly a decade in the United States Navy Reserve. It was during her time in uniform that she transitioned into Public Affairs, discovering the transformative power of storytelling. She works currently as an Adjutant for American Legion Hollywood Post 43 and also serves as the Media and Communications Board Chairperson, leading the Post's branding and storytelling initiatives. She is an active member of Veterans in Media & Entertainment (VME) and a proud participant in the Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project. Savage has been a Top 10 Finalist for Ms. Veteran America, while raising critical awareness and funding for Final Salute Inc., which supports homeless women veterans and their children. She holds a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications. Savage currently resides in Inglewood, California, where she's a filmmaker and a mom. Today, her mission remains the same: to tell stories that honor women, veterans, and the people history often go unseen.

  • The Shops at Hollywood Park contain a variety of dining options including The Meeting Spot, COSM, Cinepolis and Raising Cane's first California Flagship Restaurant in Inglewood. Fans can check out these locations for a bite or drink before or after each Rams game.
  • Located at Prairie Avenue and Century Boulevard, Hollywood Park's retail district is home to Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas, JD Sports, Iconix Fitness, Cosm, The Meeting Spot, Raising Cane's and Phenix Salon Suites.

AMERICAN AIRLINES PLAZA TO FEATURE ACTIVATIONS FOR FANS

  • Early Entry Special: There will be early entry $5 beer specials in Upper American Airlines Plaza and inside Entries 1-4 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PT or while supplies last.
  • Activities for Fans: Rams Ramp'd Up area, the Button Bar, football toss and more will be available to fans in Upper American Airlines Plaza from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. PT.
  • Rams Football Academy: Fans can visit the Rams Football Academy booth in upper American Airlines Plaza to learn about the exciting youth program and sign up for exclusive benefits and merchandise from the time gates open through halftime.
