Rams center Brian Allen out for season with MCL injury

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Rams starting center Brian Allen will miss the remainder of the season as a result of a MCL injury he sustained against the Steelers, head coach Sean McVay said Monday.

The injury occurred at the beginning of the second quarter when QB Jared Goff was sacked for a 10-yard loss by Steelers DE Cameron Heyward. After limping to the sideline, he was carted back to the Rams locker room for further evaluation and eventually ruled out. Los Angeles used Austin Blythe as Allen's replacement, moving him over from left guard.

Up until the setback, Allen played in 25 out of a possible 28 games since entering the league as a fourth-round pick in 2018. That includes playing in each of the three playoff games during the Rams' Super Bowl run his rookie season.
