Injury Report 11/16: McVay Says Kupp's Surgery was Successful, No Further Structural Damage Found

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Head coach Sean McVay said on Friday that wide receiver Cooper Kupp underwent successful surgery on his left knee this week.

"He called right afterwards and he was in great spirits," McVay said of Kupp. "I know if anybody's going to attack the rehab process the right way, it's going to be Cooper Kupp.

McVay also relayed that there was no other structural damage to Kupp's knee.

"Did a good job repairing that and we expect him to be able to make a good recovery, and looking forward to getting him back," McVay said.

Kupp suffered the season-ending knee injury during the fourth quarter of last Sunday's victory over Seattle. He'll finish his second year with 40 receptions for 566 yards and six touchdowns.

McVay also said Friday's practice will provide a good measuring stick for whether wide receiver/returner Pharoh Cooper could be activated off injured reserve for Monday's game.

"He got out and did a little bit of a workout — in terms of just running some routes with our medical staff, that was not exclusive to practice," McVay said. "And today will be a good gage to see where he's at. Once we get out on the field, do some team settings. And if he' feeling good, we're looking forward to having him potentially up this week. And it's good to have Pharoh back out there."

On the other side, former Rams wide receiver Sammy Watkins (foot) did not participate in Kansas City's Friday practice. Watkins missed last week's game with the injury, but did participate in Thursday's session on a limited basis.
