Matthew Stafford passes Philip Rivers for eighth-most career completions in NFL history 

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford's climb up the NFL record books continues.

With his 34-yard completion to wide receiver Tutu Atwell with 6:19 remaining in the third quarter of Thursday night's game against the 49ers at SoFi Stadium, Stafford (5,278) passed Philip Rivers (5,277) for eighth on the NFL's career completions list.

Stafford entered Week 5 needing 12 completions to reach the milestone. He finished with 30, out of 47 attempts, for 389 yards and three touchdowns, bringing his career to 5,296.
