Game Recap: Rams hold off Seahawks 21-19 behind defense's four interceptions, Kyren Williams' explosive playmaking and missed 61-yard field goal with one second left

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – It took every one of the Rams secondary's four interceptions, and every last second of regulation, for the Rams to hang on for a 21-19 win over the Seahawks on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.

The victory moved the Rams (8-2) into first place in the NFC West and extended their win streak to five games.

Leading 21-19 with 2:23 remaining after Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III's 1-yard rushing touchdown, the Rams got the Seahawks down to one timeout with 1:51 remaining, but couldn't convert the 3rd and 10 from their own 49.

However, punter Ethan Evans' ensuing kick traveled 50 yards and landed out of bounds at the Seahawks' own 1-yard line.

Seattle moved into position at the end of the ensuing series for a 61-yard try by kicker Jason Myers with one second left, but Myers missed short.

Safety Kamren Kinchens accounted for two of Los Angeles' four interceptions, and both directly lead to touchdown scoring drives by L.A.'s offense against Seattle (7-3). Cornerbacks Cobie Durant and Darious Williams each had one.

Running back Kyren Williams rushed 12 times for 91 yards and one touchdown in the win, cracking the Top 10 in franchise history in rushing yards with his performance. He had carries of 30 and 34 yards in the game, the latter marking Williams' longest of the season.

Safety Quentin Lake left the game in the first half with an elbow injury and did not return. Tight end Tyler Higbee left the game in the second half with an ankle injury.

Here is the complete game recap:

The Rams went for it on 4th and 1 from the Seahawks 8 after a failed challenge, but that opening drive ended after an incomplete pass by quarterback Matthew Stafford that was intended for tight end Tyler Higbee.

However, the Rams got the ball back three plays later after Kinchens picked off a Darnold pass intended for Kupp and returned it 31 yards to the Seahawks 3. Again, Los Angeles went for it on 4th down, this time 4th and goal from the Seattle 2, and converted with a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Williams to take a 7-0 lead with 8:38 to play in the first quarter.

Seattle answered with a 57-yard field goal that appeared on its way to a wide right miss before just sneaking inside the right up right to cut L.A.'s lead to four with 6:31 left in the first quarter.

The Rams regained a double-digit lead on the ensuing series via a 1-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to Adams to go up 14-3 with 1:04 remaining in the first quarter.

Myers made field goals of 30 and 22 yards to cut the Rams' lead to five by halftime.

Durant's interception on a Darnold pass – as Darnold was hit as he threw the ball by Young – gave the Rams defense a big takeaway early in the third quarter. However, two plays later, the Seahawks recovered a Nacua fumble on the ensuing drive to regain possession.

Despite that turnover, Los Angeles held Seattle to a 29-yard field goal to maintain a 14-12 lead with 8:02 left in the third quarter. Emmanuel Forbes Jr. had an impressive timely pass breakup in the endzone on a Darnold deep pass intended for wide receiver Rashid Shaheed that was critical to limiting Seattle to three points.

L.A. stopped a sneak by Seattle tight end A.J. Barner on 3rd and 1 from the Seattle 40, but the offense continued to stall out and was forced to punt at the end of the following drive. The Seahawks at that point had run 44 of the last 59 plays in the game, and then got the ball back at their own 37.

The Seahawks' next series was derailed by a first down holding penalty, then Kinchens snagging his second pick of the game, which gave the Rams the ball at the Seattle 25 after his 22-yard interception return.

The Rams capitalized on the takeaway and broke through a scoreless third quarter with a 6-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to tight end Colby Parkinson to extend their lead to 21-12 with 14:15 to play in the fourth.

Williams grabbed the Rams defense's fourth interception of the day against Darnold on the next series, but the offense was forced to punt on the ensuing possession.

Walker's 1-yard rushing touchdown with 2:23 remaining cut the Los Angeles lead to two.

The Seahawks forced the Rams to punt on the next possession, but when they got the ball back, they had to start at their own 1-yard line because of Evans' pinpoint punt.

Myers gave them one last gasp, but missed short. And the Rams survived.
