Rams Pro Football Focus tidbits heading into Week 7

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has a team of more than 300 staffers evaluating every NFL play from the Hall of Fame game to the Super Bowl. After each game, players, as well as each team's offensive, defensive and special teams units, are graded on a scale of 0 to 100; the closer a player or unit is to 100, the better. A full explanation of their evaluation process can be found here for additional context.

Here's a look at some of the noteworthy Rams-centric assessments through the first six weeks of the season.

DONALD IS TOP INTERIOR DEFENSIVE LINEMAN

In most cases, one stat doesn't tell the whole story for a player's performance. That notion certainly applies to Rams DT Aaron Donald.

Entering Week 7, Donald is the highest-graded interior defensive lineman among the 165 evaluated by PFF so far this season.

Though Donald has only three sacks, he's still had plenty of success getting to the quarterback with six QB hits and 21 hurries, figures that share second and rank fourth respectively at his position.

RETURN TO STARTING ROLE NO PROBLEM FOR EBUKAM

LB Samson Ebukam is no stranger to being a starter, having done so in 14 of the Rams' 16 regular season games last season. Against the 49ers, he had no trouble filling in for the injured Clay Matthews, especially against the run.

Playing a season-high 70 snaps, Ebukam graded out with an 87.8 against the run per PFF. That number was highest among all Rams defensive players who saw action last Sunday.

For added context, a 90.0 or higher is considered an elite grade by PFF.

HENDERSON SHOWS CAPABILITY AS RECEIVER

While he only caught one pass for nine yards, RB Darrell Henderson showed enough in passing situations to post a solid performance in that area.

The former Memphis standout posted a receiving grade of 70.7 against the 49ers, good for second-highest among all Rams offensive players who saw playing time on Sunday.

Henderson collected 63 receptions for 758 yards and eight touchdowns in three collegiate seasons, so the skillset wasn't exactly an unknown, but he got a chance to give fans a glimpse of it last week.
