Rams regresan a Philadelphia y quieren mostrar que pueden vencer a Eagles | Vista previa del partido

Los Eagles de Philadelphia levantaron su segundo trofeo Vince Lombardi el pasado febrero al aplastar a Kansas City. Tres semanas antes, sin embargo, hubo un equipo que los llevó al límite.

Y este domingo ellos regresan a Philadelphia en el juego más interesante de la Semana 3 de la NFL (10 am PT/FOX/1330 AM Tu Liga Radio). Es un duelo del primer mes de la temporada, pero también es la oportunidad para los Rams de demostrar crecimiento.

"Será emocionante probarnos a nosotros mismos el domingo", dijo esta semana el receptor Puka Nacua, líder de la NFL con 18 atrapadas, al referirse a la naturaleza física del oponente en turno. "Pienso que será una oportunidad para nosotros de mostrar lo que tenemos".

El tercer partido entre Rams (2-0) y Eagles (2-0) en menos de 10 meses pone frente a frente a dos de los equipos que son considerados entre los más completos de la NFC. El ataque por carrera de Philadelphia y específicamente las grandes escapadas de Saquon Barkley marcaron la diferencia en los dos duelos anteriores.

La buena noticia para los Rams es que su defensa ha empezado muy bien esta campaña, mientras que Barkley ha tenido actuaciones más bien discretas: 148 yardas en 40 intentos y 2 TDs en dos juegos.

Como nota interesante de la semana, la NFL reconoció que los Eagles debieron haber sido penalizados con movimiento ilegal en su partido de la Semana 2 contra los Chiefs en uno de sus intentos de "tush-push", la jugada a la que muchos en la NFL se oponen pero que aún es permitida.

Por eso, la liga ha pedido a los oficiales que este domingo sean más estrictos con la aplicación de las reglas en esa acción con la que Philadelphia ha tenido tanto éxito.

Los campeones reinantes de la NFL, que vencieron a Dallas y Kansas City en partidos muy cerrados, son favoritos por 3.5 puntos.

Los Rams posiblemente tendrán su segundo partido seguido sin el guardia izquierdo Steve Avila, quien sufrió una lesión de tobillo en el juego inaugural. Limitarlo siempre es más difícil de lo que parece (los Rams lo capturaron 7 veces en los playoffs). Dicho eso, será clave para los Rams mantener callado a A.J. Brown, quien apenas suma 6 recepciones para 35 yardas y es de todos conocido que ha estado frustrado por la manera en que lo utilizan. Así como lo hicieron contra Nico Collins en la Semana 1, los Rams deben de proponerse que Brown no sea un factor, que no haya jugadas grandes del explosivo receptor.

- El ataque de los Rams empezó a carburar la semana pasada en Nashville al anotar 23 puntos en la segunda mitad. Esa es una buena noticia de cara al duelo contra la siempre fuerte defensa de Philadelphia. Sin embargo, los Eagles han lucido menos dominantes en este comienzo de campaña, haciendo ver que los cambios de personal tal vez les han restado poderío. Por ejemplo, ellos solo tienen 2 capturas de quarterback. Este es un partido donde Davante Adams y Puka Nacua tienen que ganar sus duelos contra una defensa secundaria talentosa, pero muy joven y que tal vez ahora no goce del beneficio de un "pass rush" dominante.
